iPhone Ringtones: It and the Other Ironies Therein

The iPhone is an impressive mobile phone, making new standards in the realm of smartphones. It is basically a 2.75G quad-band GSM mobile phone, which features text messaging, email reading and sending, as well as web browsing capabilities. It comes with an integrated 2.0 megapixel camera, as well as Wi-Fi connectivity features. Its two model types boast 4 gigabyte and 8 gigabyte storage capacities, and utilizes a touch screen as its main user interface system.

It is basically four devices all rolled into one item; mobile phone, iPod portable audio player, video file player and portable internet web browser. It boasts a standby battery life reaching up to 250 hours, 7 hours of video file viewing, 6 hours of internet browsing, 24 hours of audio playing and 8 hours of talktime battery life. It is basically run by an optimized version of the Mac OS X operating system used in Apple laptops and desktops, making it quite the mobile phone/computer.

It boasts an improved user interface as an audio player, making the act of creating playlists and/or selecting songs easy and fast. Its 3.5 inch wide screen makes it perfect for watching videos.

It is quite an impressive mobile phone, but has certain ironies that come along with it.

One irony would be iPhone ringtones. Though one could literally store hundreds of mp3 files, one cannot use these as iPhone ringtones. iPhone ringtones are limited, which is quite ironic for a phone with such “power” in it.

Another irony, somewhat similar to iPhone ringtones, would be its integraged 2.0 megapixel camera. It can take still pictures, but cannot record video clips. Again, with its impressive file storage capacities, as well as its 2.0 megapixel camera, it is another iPhone irony worth noting.

The iPhone’s limited support for Flash would be another iPhone irony, running along the same levels as the iPhone ringtones irony. It has web browsing features, but limited Flash support. As most websites today utilize Flash elements in their designs and operations, the iPhone’s limited Flash support somewhat leaves the whole web browsing experience hanging.

There is a particular hassle to the impressive touch screen feature of the iPhone. Writing periods and commas, require users to go to a different screen, every time. Imagine the hassle of having to do this. It has an impressive touch screen, yet has this hassle.

All in all, the iPhone is impressive, but one with certain ironies in it. Before going out and getting one, it would be a good idea to consider these ironies first.
