Iphone pricing: Is the gadget worth the price?
It is $499 for a version of 4 gigabytes and $599 for the 8-gigabyte piece.
These figures can be quite familiar for many. This was the set Iphone pricing by the leading manufacturer and developer of this gadget. For some, it can pretty much cash them out. Others consider it a good quote.
This Iphone pricing has been right for most companies designing this piece of Internet-enabled multimedia mobile phone. Like Cingular Wireless, they may not be the main developer of this technology, yet they believe that the set figure is just right. They are even expecting this digits to increase few months after its launching.
Some commentators however have questioned this Iphone pricing. For them, it simply hits most smart phone offerings, which will turn out as their major competition. Cingular negates this statement by saying that the Iphone pricing is only appropriate for its target audience.
Like any other mobile phone names topping the industry of cell phones, they believe an Iphone user that will pay this set price of the gadgets will get their money’s worth. Majority has been carrying a phone in their purse and most will purchase their own Treo or Blackberry, and some may even have an iPod. These three leading and coveted gadgets will certainly be replaced with an Iphone.
However, there are still questions that control how much persuasion these companies have on Iphone pricing and functionality developments. Since it is an Ipod type of gadget, Apple Inc has the power to set the price of it. Thus, there is a slim chance of other carriers to cut the price after some time.
Many however still believe that this Iphone pricing will decrease some time. If one can remember the initial price of Ipods in the market during its first launch, the figure was $399. Yet, it declined to $200 until $160 as its average selling price after nearly a year.
There are also series of rebuttals with regards to comparing Iphones with smart phones. There is actually a considerable difference between the two. There may be no clear line to draw yet a smart phone is expensive while regular phones are reasonably priced. Apple Inc, being the leading technology developer, is not selling 10 million pieces of Iphones. Yet they are trying to sell around 10 million pieces of smart phones. This is one funny thing that other companies and users realize with regards to Iphone pricing.
Some consider it absurd and some say it is just right. It is for you to judge and scrutinize if the piece is really worth the price.
